City of Montreal Rejects Islamic Center

The City of Montreal rejects Islamic Center's permit for Public Safety reasons. Mayor Denis Coderre explained that the city would not deliver an occupational permit to Imam Hamza Chaoui for his Islamic cultural center that was supposed to open in February 2015.

The radical Imam is known on his views about the stoning and the whipping of those who do not follow sharia law, self proclaiming himself anti-democracy and having unacceptable views regarding women and homosexuals.

Hamza Chaoui connections to radical Islamists:

• Was a preacher at the St-Jean-sur-Richelieu mosque that was attended by Martin Couture-Rouleau, the Quebec Muslim convert who killed Canadian Armed Forces Member Patrice Vincent.
• Was the leader of a Muslim association at Laval University where one of the association's member, Chiheb Esseghaier, is awaiting trial on charges in relation to a plot to derail a Via Rail train somewhere between Toronto and New York.
